Best Restaurants in Dublin

Dublin, the heart of the island, is the ultimate place to hit if you’re mad for great food and drink. Showcasing the best of Irish and international cuisine, the capital knows how to serve up a plate of pure authenticity and also fantastic individual expressions of foreign dishes.

Almost every street is lined with some sort of eatery – cafes are a la mode while restaurants have taken a step back to allow for more casual dining, at a reasonable price I might add. Any one street might include a hint of India, the Middle East, France or your classic Irish pub with grub and that is what makes tasting Dublin a pure joy. Fork and knife to the ready, let’s dig into Ireland’s hottest food and drink destination.

Best Breakfast in Dublin – Yogism

Yogism does yoghurt, super duper yoghurt! They have recently become ‘obsessed with’ their ‘breakfast offering’ too and spoonfuls of yoghurt have most definitely found their way onto almost every dish!

I would absolutely recommend their buckwheat pancake, blended with banana and flaxseed to give it body and flavour. It’s topped with Greek yoghurt, fresh mixed berries, pecans and a drizzling of honey. A guilt free breakfast and for the day that you’re about to have, I think this is going to start you off quite nicely!

Best Brunch in Dublin – Havana Tapas

The best brunch in Dublin – Havana Tapas are known for their brilliant tapas in a quirky, homey atmosphere. It’s almost like lounging on your friend’s couch as they rustle you up some pretty tasty Spanish food! In the heart of Dublin city, this is such a cool little spot.

The Healthier Side of Dublin – Cornucopia, Tang, Yogism, Counter Culture

Nowadays, eating well and ‘clean’ is the hippest thing known to man and Dublin like most parts of the world are fighting to be part of that healthy market. Doing it so well, I wanted to show you a sample of the healthier side of Dublin.

Fro-yo

If you haven’t heard of ‘fro-yo’ it’s basically frozen yoghurt. Yogism in George’s St Arcade have brought this American creation to the streets of Dublin and everyone seems to go mad for the stuff! Choose from dairy or vegan fro-yos and scatter with a selection of fifty different toppings. Go as healthy as you wish or as naughty as you’ll allow! Ps… You’re guaranteed your fro-yo on the house if you manage to guess the exact weight!

Vegetarian Restaurant in Dublin

Best Restaurants in Dublin: Cornucopia one of the longest standing vegetarian restaurants in the whole of Ireland has been around for some thirty years. It’s going stronger than ever and always seems packed whenever I pop in! Their salads are stellar and a definite forkful or two for your palate to savour. Heres some of their salads, but only a few!

Grated red cabbage and carrot kissed with scallions and dressed with a spicy Thai peanut dressing.

Sliced daikon, cucumber and scallion in a basil sauce.

Vibrant carrot and red cabbage slaw tossed with vegan mayo.

Sprouted beans with ginger, lemon and coriander.

Guilt Free Chocolate Bars

We all love a chocolate bar and some more than others… But at Counter Culture they have two epic bars that are going to put those cravings at bay for a short while at least… Think Snicker and Bounty bars but with more of a guilt free after taste! A must try for any choco-thuasist!

A Taste of the Sea – Eden Bar and Grill

I hear you say you’d like something fishy… Well I can’t think of anywhere better than Eden Bar & Grill. Found on South William Street this place seems small from the outside but met with a pleasing surprise of long beautifully adorned tables, lush plants and a wonderful amount of natural light from the old style roof top glass windows on the inside.

Waited by arguably some of the warmest multinational waiters, this place is a real treat! The pan-fried Sea Bream and Mussels served with new baby potatoes, crispy Pancetta, broad beans and tapenade is one of the tastiest fish dishes I’ve ever tasted. Well balanced and cooked to perfection, I think you’ll be coming back for more!
