This year we’ve teamed up with some amazing brands around Ireland to make your family journeys more memorable and unique.
How this works – it’s simple! Just produce your JJ Kavanagh & Sons bus ticket & save money when you shop or visit with the following companies – have fun 🙂
Kilkenny City Tour Train
A fantastic way to view the city is to take the Kilkenny City Road Train Tour with your family. The tour starts off at the Kilkenny Castle and brings you on a 30-minute tour of Medieval Kilkenny City. It’s endless amount of fun with all the family. It’s your one stop shop for entertainment.
Mayfield Birds of Prey (Waterford)
On the grounds of Kilmacthomas Work Houses, Willie (the trainer) is on hand with his flock of beautiful hunting birds; in all sizes from Muffin the tiny little owl to Holly the majestic hawk; you get to feed them, and see how they interact with Willy (they love him). If you and family love birds or if you’re looking for something different, this is highly recommended!
Thomond Park Museum (Limerick)
Why not follow in the footsteps of the great Munster hero’s by taking a look behind the scenes at the historic Thomond Park Museum? The tour consists of a museum visit, entry to the dressing rooms and a pitch walk where all the greats have played!
One of Waterford greatest hidden gems, Burzza is a feast for all the senses. The head chef Jamie will produces mouth-watering pizza burger (yes a burger within the pizza!) which you can wash down with one of their locally sourced craft beers. If you are not convinced yet, check out our Blogger Timi’s trip to Burzza in Waterford.
Viking Triangle (Waterford)
The tower stands proudly at the corner of the Viking Triangle and is very deceptive! When you walk in, it is HUGE! The best way to describe it would be similar to stepping into Dr Who’s Tardis! There are three levels to check out with great information on the history of the tower and also Waterford city! Highly recommended is the top floor, where there’s a great video and also great views of the surrounding city!
Bunratty Castle & Folk Park (Clare)
The Bunratty folk park is a sprawling replica of what it would have been like to live in 19th century Ireland. As you move around the park, you get a sense of just how much is in it, how authentic it strives to be. There’s a farmhouse with a Mrs Brown type character making bread and sharing funny stories. You could end up walking around the park for hours. It’s truly a place where you’ll feel you’ve been transported to another time!
The Kilkenny Way Hurling Experience (Kilkenny)
This hurling experience will give you an insight into the world’s oldest and fastest field game in the ‘Home of Hurling’ Kilkenny! You can take the two-hour trip where you’ll learn the skills of the game, visit Nolan Park and finish up with some lunch, while watching the great game.
