Temporary changes to college & local bus routes

Current Status: Active

St. Patrick’s Week – From 16th to 20th March

Maynooth University Routes – Temporary suspension

Please note that the following routes will not operate from Monday 16th March, until Friday 20th March 2026:

  • UM12: Carlow – Maynooth
  • UM14: Portlaoise – Maynooth
  • UM06: Athy – Maynooth

Standard weekday services for these routes will resume as normal from Monday, 23rd March 2026.


SETU Carlow Routes – Adjustments to service

The following SETU Carlow routes will not operate on Tuesday, 17th March 2026 (St. Patrick’s Day):

  • 825: Portlaoise – Carlow
  • 736: Naas – Carlow
  • IW02: Newbridge – Carlow
  • ITC4: Mountmellick – Carlow

Note on Naas Services: The 12:00, 14:45 Carlow–Naas and 09.00hrs Naas – Carlow services will not operate from Monday, 16th until Friday, 20th March 2026. All services will resume on Monday, 23rd March 2026.


Waterford City Services – Revised schedule

  • Tuesday, 17th March (St. Patrick’s Day): Buses will operate according to the standard Sunday schedule.
  • Wednesday, 18th March 2026: Regular weekday timetables resume.

Local Route Adjustments – Public Holiday

The following local routes will not be in operation on Tuesday, 17th March 2026 (St. Patrick’s Day):

  • 874: Hackettstown – Carlow
  • 871: Urlingford – Kilkenny

Regular services for these routes will resume on Wednesday, 18th March 2026.
