Timetable Of Services
While every effort is made by JJ Kavanagh & Sons to ensure the full operation of all bus services advertised by it at all times, JJ Kavanagh & Sons will not be liable for any delay or interruption in any of its services where such delay or interruption is caused by reason of matters beyond its control, including, machine break-down or interruption in supply by others of power, materials or finished goods.
JJ Kavanagh & Sons services may be subject to alteration or cancellation without notice for reasons beyond the control of JJ Kavanagh & Sons. Intending passengers are, therefore, advised to enquire before setting out on their journey for the latest information concerning the services.
On occasions where snow, fog, or other adverse weather conditions prevail, or the state of the roads is unusually difficult or if for any reason whatsoever roads or sections of roads are closed to traffic, it may be necessary to vary the times of JJ Kavanagh & Sons services, or to suspend their operation without notice. JJ Kavanagh & Sons shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay or expense arising as a result of such circumstances outside the control of JJ Kavanagh & Sons.
Weekly Bus Tickets
1. What is a Weekly Ticket?
A weekly ticket allows a passenger 5 outward and 5 return journeys between the specified destinations within a 7 day period.
2. Can my weekly ticket be valid from Thursday to Thursday?
Yes. JJ Kavanagh policy states that weekly tickets are valid for a 7 day period from the day of purchase.
3. Can I use my weekly ticket from a number of stops?
No. Weekly tickets can only be used on one route and between two specific stops. For example, a weekly ticket between Dublin and Kilcullen can not be used to travel from Naas to Dublin.
4. Can I make 6 outward journeys and 4 return journeys?
No. Weekly tickets are valid only for a maximum of 5 journeys in both directions.
5. Where can I purchase a weekly ticket?
Weekly tickets can be purchased both online and from the driver as you board the coach. We would recommend purchasing your tickets online to ensure that your seat is guaranteed.
6. What is the price of a weekly ticket?
Weekly ticket prices vary depending on the destinations.

3. You will receive your booking confirmation via email. This must be either printed before travel or e-ticket downloaded on your smartphone, and presented on-board to the bus driver before departure.
4. Customers must travel on the date and time specified, and from point of origin selected when purchasing their online ticket.
Student Travel
JJ Kavanagh & Sons will be accepting the – Young Adult Card (YAC) – on all of our services. A range of Young Adult and Student Leap Card tickets will be available on our services including Single, Return and Weekly tickets . To avail of the 50% discount be sure to register for Young Adult Card (YAC) today here. On our Waterford City Services (607, 617 and 627) Young Adult or Student Leap Card Tickets can be purchased on the bus from the driver. Please present the Young Adult or Student Leap Card when boarding the bus to purchase a single ticket at a reduced fare of 50% compared to the adult fare.
Passenger Ticket Types
Our passenger ticket types are designed to help you choose the right ticket for yourself or your fellow travellers.
Children (0-4) – One child aged 0-4 travels free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.
Children (5-12) – If travelling with a child, you may be required to show proof of age when buying tickets or at any point during your journey. Failure to do so may result in the child being required to pay the full fare for the journey on that day.
Family Tickets (2 Adults + 2 Children) – We have a new family ticket where you can ONLY purchase online. This ticket is valid for 2 adults and 2 children (0-12).
Weekly Ticket – A weekly ticket allows a passenger 5 outward and 5 return journeys between the specified destinations within a 7 day period.

Young Adult Card (YAC) – The Young Adult (19-23) Leap Card is available to all 19-23 year olds right up to their 24th Birthday.
Do your coaches run 24 hours a day?
The majority of our services operate 24 hours a day, especially on our airport routes.
How do I get to the coach park from terminals 1 and 2 in Dublin Airport?
Terminals 1 and 2 are very close to the main coach park (Zone 16) at the centre of the airport. Simply follow the signs to the coach park. Walking time is approximately five minutes from both terminals. View map here.
How long before departure should I arrive at the pick up point?
You must be at the departure point at least 10 minutes prior to the departure time.
Can I buy my ticket from your driver?
Yes, you can purchase your ticket from the driver when getting onto the coach with our contactless payments.

What ticket types do you offer?
We offer single, return, family (selected routes), weekly and yearly journey tickets. We also offer Taxsaver tickets. How long is an open return ticket valid for?
Open dated return tickets are valid for one month from the date of your outward journey.
Are free travel passes accepted on JJ Kavanagh & Sons?
Yes, we accept free travel passes on all services, with the exception of college services.
Do your coaches make toilet stops?
On our main routes, no. However, we toilets on board 90% of our service coaches.
Do your coaches have plug sockets by the seats?
We have plug sockets on board a limited number of vehicles. However, we are looking into the possibility of providing this across our services in the future.
Do you have coaches available for private hire?

Can animals be carried on our coaches?
We do not allow animals on the bus, with the exception of guide dogs.
What is your policy on the use of e-cigarettes?
We do not permit use of e-cigarette on any of our coaches.
What are the age restrictions on your child fares?
We offer child fares to anyone under the age of twelve and children under the age of four travel for free on JJ Kavanagh & Sons.
