Results week is nearly here, and for a lot of you that means one thing straight after, sorting out how you’re actually going to get to college in September. We know timetables aren’t the first thing on your mind while you’re waiting on that envelope or portal login — but we wanted to share the key dates now so you’re not scrambling later.
Full, downloadable timetables for each route are still being finalised and will be published shortly online. In the meantime, here’s exactly when each service resumes so you can start planning.
Routes to Maynooth University
Services to Maynooth University resume from Monday, 21st September 2026 — in line with Maynooth’s Orientation Week (14th–18th September) and the start of First Semester lectures.
UM06, UM12 and UM14 will commence from Monday 21st September.
Routes to SETU Carlow
Services to SETU Carlow resume from Wednesday, 9th September 2026.
736A – Naas to Carlow: resumes Wednesday 9th September, with the first and last services of the day running initially. The remaining services on this route will resume from Monday, 21st September. (Two timetable versions will be published to reflect this — we’ll flag clearly which one is live at each stage.)
Route to Limerick TUS, University of Limerick and Limerick MIC
At TUS, returning students (Years 2–4) and Year 1 Welcome Week both begin the week of 7th September, with first-year lectures starting Monday, 14th September. Apprentices begin Term 1 on Monday, 21st September. At the University of Limerick, Autumn semester teaching begins Monday, 7th September, with orientation for new students running from 31st August to 4th September. (MIC’s 2026/27 academic calendar hadn’t been published at the time of writing — please check MIC’s own site for confirmed dates.)
As one of our regular routes, the 735 operates all year round and resumes its full daily schedule from Monday, 7th September 2026, including:
- 07:15 Nenagh – Limerick
- 09:00 Limerick – Nenagh
- 13:10 Dublin Airport – Limerick
- 17:45 Limerick – Nenagh
Routes to UCD, Trinity College, TU Dublin and DCU
At University College Dublin (UCD), orientation runs from 31st August to 4th September, with teaching commencing Monday, 7th September. Trinity College Dublin (TCD) holds orientation for new first-year undergraduates the week of 14th September, with Michaelmas Term teaching also beginning that week. TU Dublin’s Year 1 orientation runs from 7th–11th September, with teaching commencing for all years on Monday, 14th September. Dublin City University (DCU) begins Semester 1 teaching on Monday, 7th September.
These are part of JJ Kavanagh’s standard routes, operating all year round.
Route to Yeats College and Waterford College of Further Education
Both colleges are expected to resume for the new academic year in early September, as usual. We’d recommend checking directly with Yeats College Waterford and Waterford College of Further Education for their confirmed start dates closer to the time.

Routes to Tyndall College/IFET and St Patrick’s Carlow College
Tyndall College Carlow typically returns for the new school year in the last week of August (each school sets its own date, so it’s worth checking directly with the college). Carlow College St Patrick’s begins Induction & Re-Orientation from 1st September 2026.
As part of our regular routes, the 736, 874 operate all year round.
736A, IW02 and IW04 will commence from Wednesday 9th September.
UM12 will commence from Monday 21st September.
