Changes to Ticketing System for a Better Bus Journey
At JJ Kavanagh, we are constantly striving to improve your bus travel experience. We have listened to your feedback and are excited to announce some important changes to our ticketing system, effective from Monday, September 18th, 2023.
Why are we making these changes?
Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable journey for all passengers, and we firmly believe these new initiatives will allow us to do that.
What’s Changing?
The paper return/weekly tickets have been phased out so that every person with a pre-booked digital ticket will be guaranteed their seat when they board.
Starting from Monday, September 18th 2023, weekly or return tickets will no longer be available for purchase from our drivers.
You will be able to purchase a SINGLE ticket for a one-way journey from our drivers with cash or using a debit card with our tap and facility.
However, a digital ticket must be purchased by passengers wanting to purchase a weekly or return ticket. This allows you to pre-book your return journey, ensuring you get the seat you pre-booked.
How Do Digital Tickets Work?
Our digital tickets, featuring a secure QR code, are safe, convenient, and flexible. They can be easily purchased using a debit or credit card through our mobile phone app or via the our Journey Planner.
Benefits of using the JJ’s Mobile App
- The app also gives you the flexibility to make changes to your ticket up to 2 hours before your bus’s departure. Simply open the app to update the time or date of your journey.
- When it’s time to board, just show your ticket to the driver directly through the app.
- Additionally, the app features a live bus tracker, allowing you to monitor your bus’s arrival in real-time.
Using the JJKavanagh.ie Website
Alternatively, you can enjoy the same convenience and functionality on our website, jjkavanagh.ie, accessible through your phone, tablet, or desktop browser. Your digital ticket will then be emailed to you. When boarding the bus, simply show the driver the email containing your ticket.
Alternatively, you can print out your digital ticket and show the driver the printout.
