
As the new academic year begins, we are pleased to confirm our dedicated college term services will resume in September.
Our dedicated student routes, along with our standard routes, connect towns and villages across the region directly to Maynooth University, Carlow SETU, and other key college destinations — helping you get to class on time and home at the end of the day.
You’ll find all the information you need in our Student Hub, please see below for route timetables and when the service restarts.
Routes to Maynooth University
The 2025/2026 academic year at Maynooth University will begin with Orientation Week from 15th- 19th September, followed by the start of lectures on 22nd September, 2025.
UM06, UM12 and UM14 will commence from Monday 22nd September.
Routes to SETU Carlow
At SETU Carlow, Semester 1 lectures for students begin on Wednesday, 10th September, while Term 1 lectures for apprentices commence on Monday, 22nd September.
736A and IW02 will commence from Wednesday 10th September.
We also have a new route, IW04, operating from Portarlington to Carlow, also commencing on Wednesday 10th September.
UM12 will commence from Monday 22nd September.
Route to Limerick TUS, University of Limerick and Limerick MIC
At TUS, the first semester begins on 8th September, for all students except first years, who will start on 15th September. The University of Limerick and Mary Immaculate College (MIC) both commence Semester 1 on Monday 8th September, with UL holding Orientation Week from 1st – 5th September.
As one of our regular routes, the 735 operates all year round.
Routes to UCD, Trinity College, TU Dublin and DCU
At University College Dublin (UCD), first-year undergraduates begin on 8th September, with orientation the week before, while lectures commence on 22nd September. Trinity College Dublin (TCD) holds orientation for first-year undergraduates from 15th – 19th September, with teaching beginning on 22nd September. TU Dublin begins teaching for most undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on 15th September, while Dublin City University (DCU) starts Semester 1 teaching on Monday, 8th September.
These are part of JJ Kavanagh’s standard routes, operating all year round.
Route to Yeats College and Waterford College of Further Education
Yeats College Waterford begins its 2025/2026 academic year with on-campus orientation on 8th – 9th September. Lectures then commence on Wednesday, 10th September. Waterford College of Further Education resumes during the first week of September.
As one of our regular routes, the 736 operates all year round.
Routes to Tyndall College/IFET and St Patrick’s Carlow College
The Autumn term at St. Patrick’s School and Tyndall College Carlow will begin in the first week of September.
As part of our regular routes, the 736, 825, 874 operate all year round.
736A and IW02 will commence from Wednesday 10th September.
UM12 will commence from Monday 22nd September.
We also have a new route, IW04, operating from Portarlington to Carlow, also commencing on Wednesday 10th September.
